TabSafe Management and Board
Dr. Stephen L. Axelrod, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman: Dr. Axelrod joined TabSafe in April of 2009 to implement the corporate restructuring and the commercialization of the company’s unique medication adherence technology. Dr. Axelrod has thirty-five years of clinical and administrative experience in ambulatory care and pharmacy services. He has founded several successful healthcare companies and was previously Chief Executive Officer of SeniorMed, an innovative LTC pharmacy provider; acquired by Walgreens. Dr. Axelrod received his B.S. from the University of Michigan and Doctor of Medicine from Wayne State University School of Medicine. He is board-certified both by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and the American Board of Medical Management. Dr. Axelrod is a recognized expert on medication management and aging and has participated on numerous Advisory and Editorial Boards. He is a Director of the Alliance for Aging Research and of Go4theGoal, a nonprofit that is “helping children affected by cancer achieve their goals”.
Marc Geman, General Counsel and Director: Mr. Geman has over 40 years of experience as an attorney and entrepreneur. Mr. Geman spent the early part of his career as a private securities lawyer specializing in regulatory and civil matters. In 1993 he purchased PretzelMaker, a five-unit chain, which he grew to 250 units and sold to Mrs. Fields Cookies. From 2000 to 2003 Mr. Geman served as the CEO of EnergyMizer, a company that produced an energy saving device for soft drink vending machines that was acquired by USA Technologies (NASDAQ:USAT). In 2003 Mr. Geman began to work with the founders of Spicy Pickle, a fast casual sandwich shop as they pursued a franchise model, serving as CEO from 2004 until 2010.
Dr. Richard Stefanacci, Chief Clinical Officer and Director. After completing a term as a Health Policy Scholar at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Dr. Richard Stefanacci joined the Health Policy department at the University of the Sciences, home of the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. Dr. Stefanacci has served as Medical Director for several Medicare managed care plans as well as continuing care retirement communities and nursing homes and with his family own and operate three long term care facilities. As a practicing geriatrician and health policy expert, Dr. Stefanacci’s work has focused on improving outcomes through better medication management. This work of over 400 publications and over one thousand presentations has brought Dr. Stefanacci recognition such that he has been selected as a fellow in the American Geriatric Society and College of Physicians as well as an honorary lifetime member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacist.
Chris Morgan, Chief Technical Officer and Director. Mr. Morgan has contributed to every step in TabSafe’s product development and software programming and increased his involvement by taking on the responsibilities of Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Morgan has over 20 years’ experience in technology and engineering. Recently he has led an engineering team creating complex electro-mechanical systems for a large cash logistics company. His employment history includes Brinks Inc., IBM, and Coca-Cola. Chris attended Southern Polytechnic State University where he earned a bachelor of Computer Engineering degree.
Shaun C. Baker, VP Operations. Mr. Baker joined TabSafe Medical Services Inc. in 2011. For the previous 12 years Shaun has led the development and management of private commercial and residential real estate partnerships. Prior to that, he had a 16 year career with the Gates Corporation 1983 to 1999, holding various leadership positions including 11 years of product engineering and development experience. As a Plant Manager from 2006 through 2009 he was also responsible for creating a team managed environment for customer service, order entry, scheduling, production, and human and environmental resources. From 2004 thru 2006 Mr. Baker was Technical Sales Manager responsible for all hydraulic products and industrial hose sales for distributors and OEMs through 7 districts in 4 states. Mr. Baker co-developed training, sales strategies and implementation plans with district managers leading to increased sales. He received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1982 and a Masters of Business Administration in 1992, both from the University of Colorado.
Chuck Sayers, Director of Quality and Sustaining Engineer. Mr. Sayers joined TabSafe Medical Services Inc. in 2001 as its Director of Quality and Sustaining Engineer. In this position Chuck has worked with our manufacturer on the development and design of the TabSafe units. Mr. Sayers is responsible for TabSafe’s service facility and quality assurance program. Prior to TabSafe, Mr. Sayers was employed by Healthdyne/Respironics for almost 20 years where he held progressive positions retiring as Production and Plant Manager.
Ross Roadman, Director. Mr. Roadman is the Senior Vice President, Investor Relations for Brookdale Senior Living. He originally joined American Retirement Corporation (merged into Brookdale) in 1999 as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning and Investor Relations. Previously, he served in various capacities at Ryder System, Inc. He also held positions with Ernst and Young and the International Monetary Fund. Ross received his BS in Information Systems and Accounting from the University of Maryland and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
